The MELLOR II

Brown Horween leather low top trainers

A pared back take on our classic simple sneaker, The Mellor, in a selection of luxuriously thick full grain Horween and calf leathers with our signature resoleable blake stitch construction.

The Leather

HORWEEN CHROMEXCEL - made with a process that’s nearly a century old, Horween’s Chromexcel is an aniline leather that is oiled and waxed with a hand rubbed finish. The result is a leather with a rich finish that will gradually patina.

KOGASHI Developed Since 1937, Tochigi has been producing premium leather goods in Japan. In 160 huge pit tanks, the leather is tanned slowly over time to create the finest leather. Even now, the 20 detailed work processes are often carried out without relying on machines, only on the hands of professionals in pursuit of strong and soft tanned leather that will last a lifetime. This leather is 1.7-1.8mm and has a a natural glossy look. hadwearing

CALFSKIN - our full-grain Calf leather shoes are made from European calf skins from the finest tanneries, available in a range of rich aniline dyed colours. The strong tannage will ensure that this leather will, if regularly polished, last for many years to come.

TOSCENELLO - a vegetable-tanned semi-cordovan from Maryam. It is renowned for its rich, glossy finish that offers an impressive appearance right from the start, while also developing a more beautiful look as it ages and wears.

THE FOUR KEY STAGES OF SHOEMAKING CRAFTSMANSHIP

CLICKING

The clicking process is a crucial step in shoe manufacturing, where the individual leather pieces that make up the upper are cut into precise shapes before being assembled. This stage gets its name from the sound the machines make as they cut through the material.

CLOSING

The closing process in shoe manufacturing refers to the stage where the individual components of the shoe upper, such as the vamp, quarters, and tongue, are sewn or stitched together to form the complete upper structure of the shoe.

LASTING

The lasting process is a critical stage in shoe manufacturing, where the shoe's upper is molded into its final shape and attached to the sole. This process gives the shoe its structure, fit, and comfort, making it one of the most important steps in creating a well-constructed shoe.

FINALISING

The shoes undergo a thorough inspection and refinement before they are packaged and shipped to you. This process is critical for ensuring that each pair of shoes meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
