What Makes Mellor II Stand Out?

What Makes Mellor II Stand Out?

THE FOUR KEY STAGES OF SHOEMAKING CRAFTSMANSHIP

CLICKING

The clicking process is a crucial step in shoe manufacturing, where the individual leather pieces that make up the upper are cut into precise shapes before being assembled. This stage gets its name from the sound the machines make as they cut through the material.

CLOSING

The closing process in shoe manufacturing refers to the stage where the individual components of the shoe upper, such as the vamp, quarters, and tongue, are sewn or stitched together to form the complete upper structure of the shoe.

LASTING

The lasting process is a critical stage in shoe manufacturing, where the shoe's upper is molded into its final shape and attached to the sole. This process gives the shoe its structure, fit, and comfort, making it one of the most important steps in creating a well-constructed shoe.

FINALISING

The shoes undergo a thorough inspection and refinement before they are packaged and shipped to you. This process is critical for ensuring that each pair of shoes meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Sizing

I'm reluctant to drop one star on these well made trainers due to fit as that is very personal but I feel I must for the larger footed amongst us. I've no problems at all with the quality .
I'm a size 12 UK (EU 46.5) brannock and the largest size available, 13 UK, is just long enough. In an era when people are getting larger and my neighbour's 16 year old wears size 12 UK the sizing really needs to be adjusted or go higher. Secondly, cup sole sneakers by their design have rigid toe side walls yet the toe box of these are narrow. There is a wide option but that would likely be too wide for my heel and midfoot (heel slip). Which is a long way of saying I think the G1 last is not the best option for many people. If these fitted the same as the Loake "Sneaker" last these would get 7 stars out of five :-)

Well Built Sneakers

Have owned some of the Italian made brands but these are the most substantially built sneakers I have owned. QC about as high as I've seen as well.

Gorgeous

Beautiful shoe, they feel different from any other, hard to describe but just better. Fit is a Little snug, I just ordered the same shoe in white soles and went up a half size.

Awesome.

Quality make is second to none. Comfortable to wear from day one, and it is definitely eye catcher, since several people were asking me about them. These quickly became my favorite sneakers.
